Hello everyone,

I would like to invite you to read my latest Huffington Post article “Holy Cow! There’s A Bison Farm On Long Island”.  A recent summertime day trip to the North Quarter Bison Farm inspired me to share this fun and educational visit with you.

At one time, approximately 60 million bison roamed the North American continent. Excessive hunting of these animals, along with altering their natural habitats for human needs, rendered the bison to near extinction by the early twentieth century.  Wildlife protection laws and a resurgence in the consumption of bison have led to a growing 650,000+ bison population in North America today, enabling them to reclaim their magnificent status as the largest land animal on this continent.

During my visit to the North Quarter Bison Farm, I had the pleasure to meet and interview the bison farmer and owner Ed Tuccio.
